The EIP-712 digest signTypedData signs and verifyTypedData checks — one function, so the
two cannot disagree (audit 2026-10-25, #1.6). viem includes chainId in the EIP712Domain type
only when it is a number: a dApp that sends it as a hex or decimal STRING (Omniston’s 1inch
orders: “0x89”) would otherwise be hashed over a domain WITHOUT chainId — a signature no
verifying contract accepts.
